Eighteen months ago we were delighted when local author Pauline Fisk chose to include our shop, It’s a nomad life, in her blog entitled My tonight from Shrewsbury. You can read the post here!
Those local to Shrewsbury may have noticed changes are afoot in the town centre. Last week saw the closure of Beeches Way and on the 30th June it was the turn of Wyle Cop. The work being undertaken includes kerb realignment and the installation of a zebra crossing on Beeches Lane to replace the old Pelican Crossing.
We are delighted to have supplied The American Museum of Natural History in New York with a piece for their exhibition ‘Our Global Kitchen’.
The exhibition explores the complex and intricate food system that brings our food from its original source to consumption. It first ran in 2013 and continued as a traveling exhibition, offering a cultural and social history of food.
We are running a Valentine’s Competition to win this stunning Tibetan necklace!
The necklace is made from coral, turquoise, lapis and 925 silver; making it perfect for sensitive skin.
It's a nomad life has been featured on Shrewsbury's fabulous Countdown to Christmas advent calendar. Shrewsbury marketing agency Source has teamed up with creative filmmaker Aaron Child of Painted Life Production Company, to help promote independent shops in the town.
Each day features a different Independent shop in the town. It is well worth a look.

This year was the first Small Business Saturday in the UK, held on one of the busiest shopping days of the year - the first Saturday in December.
Small Business Saturday is all about encouraging everyone in the UK to support small businesses, both on the day and beyond.
It's a nomad life is delighted to have been invited to join the Antiques Young Guns website, which launched in October 2013. The Antiques Young Guns site has been created by Mark Hill, George Johnson and Gail McLeod. You can find out more about the creaters and Young Guns on the site and even browse stock to purchase!
Every month (or thereabouts) Vicky from It's a nomad life writes a blog post for Love Shrewsbury. You can read it on here too!
When I think about what it means to ‘Be green’ I think about walking rather than using the car, buying recycled paper products and turning lights off (although this in part comes from my father’s reiteration that our house was not, and thus should not resemble ‘Blackpool Illuminations’!).
The shop marks its first birthday this week and there will be celebrations taking place on Saturday 21st September.
We have often been described as a museum where you can buy things, so visiting the shop can be a really interesting experience!
If you are reading this post then you will be on our new website - launched in September 2013. Our branding and core values remain the same, but we are now a lot shinier and easier to use!
Over the following few weeks we will be updating the website with a lot more items, so if you are unable to visit our Shrewsbury shop you will be able to view and buy a lot of the items online.
